Abutra was built to bridge a specific gap: between what AI can actually do with spatial data today and the engineering-grade accuracy that chartered clients expect. Small team, remote by design, sharp on trade-offs.
Abutra was founded in 2024 by Mohamad, a civil engineer based in London with three years of site experience in Tehran and an MSc in Sustainable Construction and Innovation from Liverpool John Moores University.
The company exists because of a simple observation: UK engineering firms spend enormous amounts of time on spatial data processing that machine learning can now handle faster and more consistently, but most geospatial vendors either sell software no one uses, or consultancy at rates nobody can afford.
Abutra does the middle thing: an online delivery service that uses AI internally, priced and scoped like a modern engineering practice. No offices, no field teams, no overhead. Just the processing intelligence other firms need, delivered digitally.
Fully online, no exceptions. Abutra runs remote-first by design. No office, no fleet, no site visits. Clients send raw data via secure cloud transfer; we return processed outputs the same way. Lower overhead, faster turnaround, global reach.
AI is a tool, not a product. We use it where it measurably improves the pipeline (classification, segmentation, anomaly detection) and stay out of its way everywhere else. Quality assurance is always human, always chartered.
Outputs over demos. Every engagement ends with files you can actually use in your CAD, BIM, or GIS stack. Fixed scope, fixed fee, no sales funnel.
Email directly; no contact forms, no sales funnel. We reply to every genuine brief within one working day.
